@JohnPhilpin Not sure I’ve tried their stout? I’ll certainly keep an eye out for it.
@JohnPhilpin I remember loving the original Caffrey’s back in the early 90s. The later version not so much, and then it disappeared from UK pubs for a long time (near me at least). This black stout version was nice, but wasn’t as smooth as I would have liked.
@mylesinthenorth.bsky.social Yes, it’s a lovely place to walk round.
@dirtyfeed.org I remember staying at the Premier Inn at the old GLC building and struggling to find the stairs. It was great when I did though as it led to what was once the grand entrance staircase. I imagined being Ken Livingstone in the 80s shaking my fist at Thatcher from across the water.
@thisness I’m no doctor, but when I had a similar pain in my right leg it turned out to be sciatica caused by a herniated disc.
@robinince.bsky.social I recall a story about Terry Pratchett thinking ‘Rincewind’ was a totally original name, and then he reread an old spoof article in which a list of lawyers names included ‘Rincewind’
@dirtyfeed.org I watched the first episode of Hi-di-Hi a while back and I remember being amazed how quickly it moves to establish the characters and set up. It’s masterful.
@tomjam.bsky.social I think she’s been watching Team America. youtu.be/32iCWzpDpKs?…
@dieworkwear.bsky.social Reminds of a UK Government Minister suggesting we all eat turnips. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-poli…
